Presentation of the alphorn made of carbon fibres
The AlpFlyingHorn offers the following benefits:
- It’s easy to transport (compact and lightweight), so you can take it with you in the cabin on planes, on hikes, on a bike or on skis.
- It can be completely dismantled and converted into a variety of instruments, including the didjeridoo.
- It’s washable and waterproof (placed on water from a boat, it creates superb echoes).
- Available in 6 keys (G/Fsharp/F/E/Eflat/D) each with fine tuning.
The AlpFlyingHorn is available in a range of colours, see the full colour palette here.
For each of the different shades, you can personalise your AlpFlyingHorn with fancy motifs (optional).
Main Characteristics
Material: Carbon fiberalpflyinghorn
Warning: Carbon is an excellent conductor of electricity; therefore this new type of alphorn should never be used near sources of electricity and/or high-voltage cables, and/or during thunderstorms, especially, if like Zaneth, you take advantage of its light weight to lift this long horn and play in the direction of the gods.
Weight: 3.4 lbs. with cover ; 4.5 lbs. with cover, all tonalities and accessories. (Traditional wooden alphorn in F and F# could weigh up to 14 lbs.)
Dimensions: 30″ collapsed – in case. May be further collapsed to 24-½ » for putting in suitcase or backpack. (Traditional three-piece wooden alphorn can be up to 57″.)
Sound: Comparable to the classical type of alphorn (faster answer; facilitates the virtuosity according to certain musicians)
«If you feel stressed, take a walk in nature and play a bit; things will get better. When you play, the countryside answers. Your melody comes back to you. It’s as if you make the earth vibrate.»
- Zaneth
